great strength building power yoga class. repetition is the dirty word of the day. Wade busts out some drill like repeats just when your about to scream stop, but hang in there and breath through it, you’ll be glad you did. and don’t think this class will let up towards the end, it only gets tougher with 3 inversion poses (handstand, headstand (with leg lifts if you are up to it), and the hardest one, "feather of the peacock (handstand on the elbows). and don’t think you are done when those are over, Wade’s got a little Bridge to Wheel combo that is sure to get your lower back ready for some Springtime fun. But you can look forward to a nice, long relaxing, lying spinal twist stretch. it’s a don’t miss workout.

"Balance" is the manta of this class, being the first day of Spring and yoga being about balance anyhow, seems fitting. Class works both sides of the body, forward and back bending and side to side as well. There is a brutal little Warrior 1 series that wraps up with a couple of good hip opener stretches. Class seems to focus on a part of the body, warm it up, wear it out, stretch it out and then work the opposing muscle—balance.
Intense lower back work towards the end of class (watch out for Wade’s counting–he has issues). 90+ minutes seemed to go by really quickly.

I’d definitely describe this class as a "Power Yoga" class but there are influences of some unusual types of yoga (like Thai Yoga Massage) throughout which make for a very interesting class. Class starts out different from the usually Sun Salutations, but you’ll find yourself nice and warmed up regardless. You’ll find variations of "traditional" poses (like Eagle) and a lot of new poses for small muscle groups, like the wrists. Wade offers a lot of detailed technical advice in this class that gives you something new to focus on in your practice. Watch out for the "Fun with Abs" bonus series towards the end.

Tonights class seemed pretty straight forward- nothing crazy. Sun salutations, triangle, twisted triangle, bow pose, boat, all of your old friends. This class is a great introduction to wade’s style of yoga.

Balance was the emphasis for this class. from beginning to end Wade was dishing out challenging balance poses. this class is a real butt burner as well, there is a particularly difficult one leg balance series that seems to have at least a dozen poses wrapped into one. great class, i felt like a million bucks afterwards.

After a good warm up of standard sun salutations, this class goes into a very Kestian series of hip-openers, sort of a "short, quick, deep", which actually kind of hit the spot for me that night. This is followed by some tried and true back-work, and a somewhat bearable "Fun With Abs™" segment.
